Top-Rated Water Heater Installation in Tucson by Intelligent Design

The average water heater should last about a decade or longer, depending on the specific make and model. Your record of routine water heater maintenance will make a difference as well. Although water heaters have impressive longevity, it may be time to think about getting a water heater replacement if your hot water heater breaks down often or isn’t as efficient as it should be

Residents in Southern Arizona can call Intelligent Design in Tucson to request a free estimate for water heater installation. We’re ready to help you replace your water heater with the right model for your needs. From selecting a tank size to choosing the right heating element, we’ll help you select the right water heater replacement for your home. We also specialize in tankless water heater installation!

Signs You Need a New Water Heater

Not sure whether you really need to replace your water heater? Yours may need to be replaced if any of the following are true:

  • Your current unit is more than 10 years old.
  • You’re seeing rust-colored water.
  • Your water heater has sprung a leak.
  • You aren’t getting enough hot water.
  • The appliance is making weird noises.

You may also need to replace your unit if you’ve called us multiple times to perform repairs within a short period of time. Older units tend to break down more often and will eventually cost more than a replacement due to frequent repairs. Whether you’re building a new construction home or replacing an existing water heater, you can rely on the licensed, courteous professionals at Intelligent Design to provide free estimates and upfront, flat-rate pricing. Call our office in Tucson at (520) 333-2665 to schedule your complimentary estimate for water heater installation and to learn about the other products and services we offer.

We use hot water every day for various tasks like laundry, washing dishes, and showering. It’s easy for us to take it for granted, until it’s not there. If your water heater is showing signs of age, you may want to replace it. If your water heater is already 10 years old and it is still working, there are some signs to look out for:

The water heater is making noises it should not be making.

You need to set the temperature higher than before to get the same result.

The hot water runs out faster than it used to earlier.

These are some signs that the water heater is no longer functioning properly and may need replacement. Whether you’re considering a replacement or planning to get the water heater repaired, Intelligent Design will be happy to work with you.

Installing a new water heater will save you money in the long run. Here are some tips to help make the transition easier:

1. Check your water lines for leaks. A broken water line can lead to flooding in your home, so it’s important to check for any sign of leakage before you begin the installation process.

2. Be prepared for some minor repairs. Even the newest water heaters may require a few small repairs after they’re installed, such as replacing a loose connection or fixing a leaky pipe. Be sure to have all the necessary materials on hand so you don’t have to wait for repairs to be made.

3. Consult with our experienced installer who specializes in water heater installations. Having someone who knows what they’re doing can make the entire process easier, and might even save you money in the end.

Scheduling Your Water Heater Installation Consultation

You can schedule a consultation with a licensed plumber at Intelligent Design. First, we’ll ask some questions about your preferences and whether you were generally happy with your old water heater. For example, did your family have enough hot water for the activities of daily living, or did you often run out of hot water? We may ask about your preferred water temperature. Our plumber will also help you decide whether you need a gas or electric water heater.

Most families decide to stick with the same fuel type as their old water heater. However, you might want to switch if you’re unhappy with your utility costs. In general, gas water heaters cost more upfront, but they are usually energy efficient and less expensive to operate than electric water heaters. However, gas water heaters have a lifespan of about 8 to 12 years, whereas electric water heaters typically last for 10 to 15 years.

Most standard residential water heaters have a capacity of 20 to 80 gallons. Our licensed plumber will recommend an appropriate capacity for your household’s needs. It’s also important to consider the first-hour rating (FHR). The FHR lets you know how much hot water supply you can reliably expect within an hour of use. For example, an FHR of 50 gallons is inadequate for a family that uses about 60 gallons first thing in the morning. Our licensed plumbers will help you choose the right appliance for your family during your consultation.

Benefits of Tankless Water Heaters

Another option is to upgrade to a tankless water heater. This appliance has a slim profile. It’s mounted directly on a wall, so there’s no need to have a bulky reservoir taking up space in your home. Even better, it heats water as it’s used, which means your family will never run out of hot water again! Tankless water heaters also tend to be more energy efficient. This means you can look forward to lower utility bills. Our licensed plumber will be happy to answer all of your questions about tankless water heaters.

Tankless water heaters are energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

They can help eliminate more than 85% of fuel gas wastage caused by standard water heaters and also help reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 420 lbs. per unit per year.

While tankless water heaters may initially cost more in comparison to traditional units, tankless heaters offer lower annual operating costs.

Tankless heaters have a projected life of up to 20 years, with a 12-year warranty.

What people say about our Water Heater Installation

Manny did an amazing job painting our water damaged ceiling as well as the damage done in my closet during last install. Thank you Manny!

I could not recommend this company enough! Years ago, my husband and I had Intelligent Design install our HVAC system. We were so thrilled with the level of expertise and professionalism that we decided to purchase their Diamond Club Membership to have routine HVAC tune-ups. A few years later, we had a different issue with roots growing in our main plumbing line. Luckily, Intelligent Design does plumbing as well! They promptly had a technician come over and clear the main line for us at a reasonable price. That brings us to today. We needed a new water heater installed because the one we had was not up to code and needed replacing. I want to give a special shout-out to Jared Smith, the technician who came out to do the inspection and the installation. He took the time to educate us on the issues he found and was transparent about options and pricing. His level of expertise and professionalism is why we will continue to count on Intelligent Design for our home needs.

We called Intelligent Design because our hot water tank "temperature and pressure" valve had a big continuous leak. Plumber Joshua was sent out. He was very helpful and explained the possible need to replace the tank. It had already had the valve replaced multiple times and because the valve was welded on, he may not be able to replace it again. He took it off and said he wouldn't be able to put in a new one. And this tank was 10 years old. He suggested a new tank.We agreed and he gave us a quote. He said he would replace every gas and water line to and from the new tank, and all the shut off valves. He stated most installs don't include those, and will therefore look less expensive. He arranged to have the new tank delivered within the hour, and he was back in two hours to install it. Everything looked perfect (and new) when he was done.
