The Hows of The Solar Tubular Lights
The solar tube works by collecting natural sunlight during the day and then using that sunlight to provide light in your home at night. This electric light collected is then stored in batteries located inside the solar tube. At night, when you need light, this stored energy is used to provide light in your home.
On moderately cloudy days, your solar tubular lights will still work just as well as on a sunny day. The sun’s rays can penetrate through the clouds, providing enough sunlight for the solar panels to collect and store. However, on very cloudy or overcast days, your solar lights may not provide as much light as usual. Water condensation can also reduce the amount of light that can enter the solar tube.
